Drawing from her own personal narrative, Katharine Morling presents an exciting and original body of work. Morling intricately sculpts inanimate objects turning them into a monochromatic entity. Her pieces work well as a free-standing work and together, transform an everyday still life setting. The scale of her sculptures and also the neutral tone of the work create a surreal experience for the viewer.
Since setting up her studio in 2003 Award winning Morling has gained international acclaim for her work. She has won the ‘Art Council’ award for arts two years in a row and has also been awarded first prize at the 2010 World Crafts Council Triennial in Belgium in 2010.
